Volume
18:
Kotoko is
having nightmares about Naoki leaving her for Rika.
Because of this, she woke up late and found Rika all
ready making breakfast for the family. A quarrel
ensues between the 2 of them with and egg ending up
on Papa's head.;;^^
Kotoko
bothered about the whole kiss things tells her
classmates and she reminisence about her school days
when she was just 17. How she is always looking at
Naoki and how she tried to impress him during a
volleyball match only to have the ball hit her on the
face when she got distracted by Naoki. Also when the
time when her test papers flew away and Naoki gave
them back to her, saying mean things about the F-class
people. However in Kotoko's view, that time the
incident is a bit distorted.;;^^ She also thought
back to the times starting from the love confession
she made to him. She is really bugged about the kiss
and wants to know where it happened etc. but have no
courage to ask Naoki.
She
finally cornered Yuuki. During their conversation,
Yuuki revealed that he doesn't know but told her
about the promise he made with Rika when she was
leaving for the US. He promised to keep Naoki safe
for her until she can come back and marry Naoki.
Kotoko is
determined to beat Rika and wakes up earlier but she
is still beaten by Rika. So they each make their own
food for the family. Naoki complains about Kotoko's
food tasting horrible and Rika is smug about it and
Kotoko is upset. But then he said, "Kotoko,
coffee." and Rika says she'll make it for him,
Naoki told her that of all the things that Kotoko
makes, her coffee is the best. Kotoko is happy and
gets his coffee while Rika is annoyed.
On the
way to school, Rika cornered Kotoko and tells her to
return Naoki to her and a fight ensues. Kotoko angry
because Rika took their wedding picture for her bag
key-chain, pushes Rika down. Naoki sees this and Rika
cries and complains to Naoki. Naoki scolds Kotoko and
carries Rika into the house. Kotoko is left outside
the house, crying.
That
night she got drunk and complained to her classmates.
Mama was worried about Kotoko not returning but Naoki
said just let her be. Kotoko arrives home on Miki's
back. When Naoki takes her into the room she mumbles
that Naoki treats Rika...treats Rika....Naoki looked
shocked... (hmm...he is a bit slow isn't he??? ;;^^)
In
hallway, Naoki encounters Rika and apologise on
behalf of Kotoko. Rika tells him that she doesn't
want him to apologise to her. Naoki then tells Rika
not to provoke Kotoko. He then goes into the room
with Kotoko leaving Rika in the hallway...
The next
morning, Kotoko apologises to Rika but again a fight
ensues between the 2 of them.;;^^
The
family is having a barbeque but again Rika
monopolises Naoki's time, leaving Kotoko angry and
annoyed. During the barbeque, Kotoko's father asks
her to take the beer and Rika offers to help. As they
are walking back to the barbeque site, Kotoko tells
Rika that even if Rika beats her to death, she won't
return Naoki to her etc. Yuuki who overhead quickly
ran back to the site cause he thinks they are going
to fight again. Rika meanwhile tells Kotoko that even
if Kotoko has that thought, don't know if Naoki
thinks the same way. Kotoko angry shouts that then
Rika should asks Naoki and as it turned out, Naoki is
behind Kotoko.
Rika then
confesses her feeling for Naoki saying how she felt
when she heard about tha marriage etc...Kotoko burst
out that if she likes Naoki that muchs he shouldn't
have left then and that if it was Kotoko, Kotoko
wouldn't have left Naoki. She also tells Rika that
even though the time that Rika likes Noaki is longer
but the effort (???) that Kotoko likes Naoki, Rika
cannot compare. She then says she don't know how
Naoki thinks but that's the way she feels and ran
away in tears.
Naoki
then says to Rika, this is what he likes about Kotoko.
She may not be able to do things properly and that
they don't have anything in common but he likes her
determination/faithfulness (??? too lazy to check the
dictionary..:P). Rika then asks, does Naoki like her
better than liking Rika. And Naoki said yes, he likes
Kotoko more than he likes Rika. Rika then says had
she known (???) she wouldn't have left for US then.
Naoki said, maybe and then pats her one the head and
walks off, leaving Rika with a sad look on her face.
Naoki
finds Kotoko crying and asks her why she is crying
and she said that she and Naoki might break up etc.
Suddenly Naoki kissed her. He comforts her and tells
her to have confidence. Kotoko says that her love for
Naoki is more than Naoki's love for her. Naoki said
yes, but....when Kotoko asks him "huh?",
Naoki said "nothing..."
Yuuki
comforts Rika who blames him for breaking his promise...and
she cries on his shoulder...
Rika is
finally leaving the Irie household. Tension still
exist between Kotoko and Rika. As Rika is aying her
goodbye to Naoki, she mentioned to him that the last
time it was also like this where they shared their
first kiss. Kotoko is shocked. She imagines Naoki
touching Rika's cheek gently etc..;;^^ She blocks
Naoki from Rika and shouts cannot. Rika suddenly
kisses Kotoko on the mouth....o_O She then tells
Kotoko that's what happened 5 years ago. She tells
Kotoko that actually she kissed Naoki and that she is
sorry she added more spice to the story..;;^^ As Riak
is leaving Kotoko shouts, come back next time, you
must, okay. Rika is embarrassed with Kotoko's display
and before she leaves she said to Naoki, "Bye
bye, Naoki." She has tears in her eyes. Kotoko
thinks to herself that Rika's feelings for Naoki,
only Kotoko can understand.....

Kotoko
and her classmates are learning on how to help during
birthing. Everyone is overjoyed over the birth of.....the
baby doll that they are using. ;;^^ Keita is even in
tears and Kotoko is saying things like the doll looks
like Naoki....Tomoko then asked if any of them has
seen a real birth. She then mentioned that anime
placenta/umbilical cord can be eaten and wonders if a
human one can be eaten. o_O She evens aid this with a
happy smile on her face...<sweatdrop>
Kotoko,
Miki and Marina wonders why Keita is always in a
hurry after class and that it's always so hard to get
him to go out. Kotoko meets Satomi who is in her
later stages of pregnancy. As they talk Satomi
reveals that she is worried about possible
complications during her birthing. They asked Naoki
but instead of being reassured, Satomi is even more
worried.
Wondering
why Keita is always in a hurry, Miki, Kotoko, Marina
and Tomoko followed him. As it turned out, he is
helping Akiko with her theraphy. They teased him
about it, but as the talk about Akiko and her
theraphy, Keita is passionate about helping her...he
is so passionate that he actually has got fires in
his eyes....
Satomi
calls Kotoko to get a safety charm from the temple.
On their way home, Satomi's water broke! Kotoko who
has no driving license took over the driving from
Satomi and drove her to the hospital. This of course,
almost caused an accident and a miracle...Akiko
actually stood up...
As Satomi
is taken into the operating theater, Naoki scolds
Kotoko about her reckless driving. (At this point I
think Naoki is not only worried for the people who
could have been killed...he was actully angry because
kotoko might have been hurt...)
Satomi
has a baby daughter and she has an easy birth....^_^
Akiko,
who finally managed to stand up tells Keita that she
is sad that it means she won't be seeing him anymore
but Keita tells her that they can see each other any
time...Kotoko teases him....^_^

It's the
school festival again. This time, there isn't any
Tennisu no Onna posters....now there's the Super
Nurses, Kotorin and Manarin posters..;;^^
Each
faculty is putting up their won booth and the nursing
faculty is also putting up one. :) During the meeting
as to what type of booth they should have, Tomoko
revealed her dark side again...;;^^
Kotoko
wants to be crowned queen and wants Naoki to be crown
king and she tells him that they both must work hard
etc but Naoki says he is busy on that day.
Funetsu
also a has a booth...:) It's a food booth and when
Kotoko and Marina found out what those food are made
of they ran...;;^^ (I do wonder...why doesn't Tomoko
end up with Funetsu??? They are so alike! ^_^)
Kotoko
brings Marina into a place where there are lot's of
guys....the manga club booth! ^_^ There Kotoko poses
for the manga fan to Marina's annoyance...;;^^
Kinnosuke
and Chris also has a booth. Kotoko compliments
Kinnosuke on the food and Kinnosuke is happy to hear
such things from Kotoko when Kotoko corrects him. He
should be happy if Chris says such things to him.
Kinnosuke angrily says mean things about Chris again.
Kotoko scolds him but Chris says that is fine. Kotoko
sees the parallel between Chris/Kinnosuke and her/Naoki
relationship....
On the
last day of the festival, Kinnosuke looks for Kotoko.
During their conversation, Kotoko finds out that
Kinnosuke actually likes Chris. He tells Kotoko that
he is not good looking and have no money and he don't
have the confidence. But Kotoko tells him that Chris
don't need all that, all she wants is to hear
Kinnosuke say, "I love you" to her. Unknown
to them, Naoki overheard their conversation...
That
night the winners of the booths are revealed....Kotoko's
class booth won 3rd, the manga club won 2nd (though
they are quivering with rage cause they didn't get 1st
place..;;^^) and 1st is Kinnosuke's booth.
The king
and queen is also revealed....despite the fact that
Naoki wasn't interested, he actually won....but the
queen? Chris! Kotoko and Kinnosuke is shocked. After
the king and queen are crown they are to share a kiss.
Chris doesn't want to when suddenly Naoki looks at
Kinnosuke and he said that's fine, he'll kiss Chris.
Kotoko is horrified and closes her eyes. Suddenly
Kinnosuke came running up and tries to hit Naoki and
he shouts that he won't give Chris to anyone else.
Everyone
applauded and Naoki puts the crown on Kinnosuke's
head and tells him that he should be able to say it
now. Kinnosuke confesses his feelings for Chris that
night and they kiss.
Naoki
walks away to find Kotoko who is ranting about how
uselesss she is not be crowned and Naoki actually
forgot he has a wife etc...In the middle of her
ranting, Naoki hugs her from behind and asks, "and
then?" and they kiss. Kotoko asks Naoki that if
Kinnosuke hadn't gone on stage would he have kissed
Chris. Naoki tells her that he already had expected
that if Kinnosuke hadn't come up, then Kotoko would
have come up. Kotoko responded "I see". (This
bit a little weird cause it's not really a
conversation...it's mre like one of those thoughts
thingie...)

PS. I
know this time the summaries could be a little
inaccurate and full of my comments...only had a few
hours of sleep when doing this...;;^^ in a weird mood..
