Volume 21:
Kotoko is finally a nurse! Unfortunately she is just as clumsy before... making many mistakes in her work. She wonders when she'll be able to finally work with Naoki. An introduction to a new character Nishigaki a flirtatious but popular doctor working in the same hospital. He likes to make a move on Kotoko. Kotoko is having a hard time working and drinks and cried at her father's shop. Chris cheers her on and Kotoko gained her spirit back.
The next day, Kotoko works hard to be a better nurse, though her patients are still a bit scared of her... As the day progresses, the head nurse informed Kotoko that she is transferred to the same hospital as Naoki. Kotoko finally achieved her dream and was ecstatic about it. Everyone else in the hospital is happy too.... for a different reason... ;;^^
Kotoko was so happy as she went on her next duty, dreaming in her own world without paying attention to the doctors she was supposed to be assisting. Suddenly, one of the doctors told her off and it was Naoki!!! As it turned out Naoki has been transferred and Kotoko seeing Naoki ran and hugged him crying. Everyone was suprised and Kotoko happily explained that Naoki is her husband...until someone said but aren't you going to be transferred?
Naoki said, "Oh I see... I guess we really are not fated to work together. But I guess it's ok...just work hard there." Kotoko ran yelling for the head nurse....

That night a party was held at the house to welcome Naoki back. As everyone celebrates, Naoki and Kotoko went to the balcony to talk. Naoki indicated that he was not used to having so many since he's been living alone but Kotoko told him that everyone is celebrating for him because they are happy he is back. Kotoko said she is also happy that she is together with him, so happy, so happy... Naoki kisses her cheek that he is so happy he can sing. Kotoko is suprised (but pleasantly surprised...^^). Naoki said all this makes him feel welcome home. He then said "tadaima" (or I am home), Kotoko responded "okaeri" (welcome home). They said at last they can be together forever and kisses.

Now that Naoki is working in the same hospital, the nurses and the patients are in love with him, much to Kotoko's annoyance. Meanwhile Nishigaki is unhappy too that he lost his position as the most popular doctor and tried to cozy up to Kotoko. But Naoki took care of him... (^^).
Kotoko was told that she is to assist another doctor in the operating theater. Kotoko sees this as a chance of getting closer to her dream of doing something similar for Naoki. But unfortunately, Kotoko being Kotoko messed up. She is sad but in front of Naoki she tries to put up a brave front.
Suddenly Naoki's mobile went off. There was an emergency, Naoki decided to operate and told Kotoko to assist him. Kotoko was first nervous... the other doctor and nurse are also scared about Kotoko.... Naoki encouraged her and kept calm throughout. The operation was a success. However, Kotoko burst out crying as soon as they've finished, scaring the family of the patient...;;^^
Kotoko thanks Naoki but suddenly Naoki hugs her from the back. He told her actually he was scared too. But he indicated otherwise to make sure Kotoko can do it. Kotoko realises that even Naoki is sometimes afraid but it's great that the patient is saved. Naoki said being a doctor is great, Kotoko agrees and they kissed.

The next day Naoki got into trouble as Nishigaki went to the board to complain that Naoki should not have carried out the operation the day before as apparently Nishigaki is supposed to train Naoki. But Naoki indicated that being a doctor is not about who is higher than who, but most important is to save the patient's life. Kotoko barges in to defend Naoki... in the end the matter was let go.
Nishigaki tried to get close to Kotoko again.... but Naoki took care of that too...;;^^

Kotoko and Yuki are buying groceries and Kotoko teases Yuki about Konomi. But Yuki decided to be cool about it. Suddenly they spotted Konomi being hit on my other guys. When the other guys asked her if she has a boyfriend, she said no. But she still rejects the guys. However, Yuki doesn't look happy.
That night when Konomi came over to the house, Yuki was mean to her. He said she is not his girlfriend, so why she acts like one? Mama and Kotoko are angry to hear Yuki said that, but Konomi puts on a brave front and left the house crying.
That night Yuki asks Naoki what does he like about Kotoko. Naoki then said when Kotoko kept saying that she likes him, he felt annoyed. But when she said she doesn't like him, until now how he felt then he still remembers it clearly. He then said, in this world, he can do 90% of things while Kotoko can't. But that 10% that he can't do, Kotoko actually can do it.
Yuki then said he doesn't understand what he is feeling or what Konomi is feeling. He then said that he could not figure out if he likes or doesn't like her. But when he saw her with the other guys, he felt angry and purposely hurt her. Naoki then said they are indeed brothers...cause that's how he felt about Kinnosuke. Naoki then said if Yuki doesn't understand, then he should ask Konomi. As Yuki left the room, Naoki told Yuki what he felt is jealousy. Yuki got red in the face... ;;^^
The next day, Yuki waited for Konomi outside her school. As they talked, Konomi indicated that she does indeed like Yuki and showed him the sweater she has knitted for him. Yuki toucheed, kissed her. After doing that, he quickly let her go...too embarrassed... (lol). He then expressed his feelings for her . As they walked home together Konomi mentioned that she's been told to come to the house at 5...Yuki said Kotoko told him the same thing. As it turned out Mama and Kotoko are preparing to celebrate Valentine's day and Yuki and Konomi getting together... Kotoko despite it being Valentine's day already is still knitting Naoki's present... ;;^^

Naoki has settled in his job at the hospital when suddenly Kinnosuke came running in with Chris in his arm. He strove to be nuisance as Naoki and the nurse had a look at Chris. As it turned out she was scaled by hot oil in the kitchen. He was so worried that he brought her into the hospital. Naoki has a talk with Kinnosuke to ask him why won't he marry Chris. Kinnosuke said that's because she has a fiance in England. Then Naoki said Kinnosuke should just let her marry that guy then. But Kinnosuke shouted he won't. Chris later asked Kinnosuke what he and Naoki spoke about but he didn't tell her... He told her though he'll be visiting everyday and told her not to worry.
Meanwhile Kotoko notices that Naoki seemed a bit off. Kotoko is worried that it's because he's been too tired. He's been working night shift and helping Kotoko to study. She decided to bring him some food. However as she ran happily towards him down the stairs, she missed a step and started falling. Naoki yelled out her name. After falling Kotoko opened her eyes and was shocked to see Naoki cushioning her fall... he is unconcious!
